"Ngāti Pūkenga, niko tetē."
Ngāti Pūkenga were experts in weaponry and renowned warriors in battle. They were also excellent at the haka which included the pūkana and whētero. The baring of teeth was a signal that they were ready to eat their enemies, one of the greatest insults of the time.
